Tada shrine
Founded in 970, this shrine is known as the birthplace of the seiwa genji clan. in honor of the seiwa genji clan, who supported samurai society for over 700 years, the shrine is worshipped as the guardian deity of prosperity, victory, and protection from evil. there are over 200 camellia trees of about 120 varieties in the shrine grounds, and the most notable of these is the 350-year-old chinese camellia (captain law), which was given to the shrine by the shimazu clan, the feudal lords of satsuma. in addition, the tada market is held on the first sunday of every month, where local restaurants and other establishments set up stalls.
