Kyoto botanical gardens
This is the longest-running public botanical garden in japan. approximately 12,000 species of plants are planted and displayed across a vast site of approximately 240,000 m2. the observation greenhouse is a popular spot that boasts the largest size and variety of plants in the country. you can get up close and personal with tropical plants from around the world, such as the baobab tree and the lilac-leaf lily. in addition, the garden hosts various exhibitions throughout the year, as well as events such as botanical garden classes and observation sessions, and offers consultations on plant gardening.
