Raikoji temple
It is said that the temple was founded by minamoto no mitsunaka's son, genken sozu (childhood name: bijomaru), at the request of his wife, honyo-ni. also known as the "hydrangea temple," the temple grounds are adorned with colorful hydrangeas during the rainy season. these hydrangeas were first donated by the kawanishi city tourist association when the main hall was rebuilt in 1974, and since then, the chief priests have been cultivating them with great care every day. why not come and see the beautiful hydrangeas that sparkle in the rain and dew?
