Kawanishi city local museum
The museum was opened using the former heian family home, whose main business was copper smelting. there are several attractions scattered throughout the grounds, including the former hiraga family home, a western-style building that was relocated and restored, the musée des poire, which displays paintings by japanese painter aoki daijo and western-style painter hiramichi takeo, who are both connected to kawanishi, and the mine materials exhibition room. in addition to the regular facility opening, various lectures, concerts, and events are also held. enjoy a leisurely time taking photos and sketching in this local museum filled with a retro atmosphere.

Closed | Mondays (open on public holidays, closed the following day), december 28th to january 4th *the former heian family residence cannot be visited due to construction until around october 2024. the former hiraga family residence and musée de l'espoir can only be visited and used on saturdays, sundays, and public holidays. |
