Azuma
This is a long-established udon restaurant founded in the late edo period. its appearance along the nose kaido road still retains a nostalgic appearance, and it has even been used as a filming location for movies. the most popular dish is "sasame udon," which is topped with a secret sauce made from hokkaido kelp, dried bonito flakes, light soy sauce, and other ingredients simmered in the perfect ratio, and is flavored with mitsuba, ginger, salted kelp, and ground sesame. it is said that the name comes from the novel "the makioka sisters," as matsuko, the wife of junichiro tanizaki, loved this restaurant.
