Bamboo forest path
One of arashiyama's most famous tourist spots. the approximately 400m road from nonomiya shrine to okawachi sanso is covered in lush bamboo forests stretching up to the sky. it is said to have been a villa for aristocrats during the heian period, and the surrounding area has a fantastical atmosphere. on sunny days when the sunlight filters through the trees, it is the perfect path for a stroll.
