Kawakami shoten main store
Founded in 1559, this is the originator of tsukudani. they sell a wide variety of tsukudani, including their signature product "matsutake konbu," as well as "chirimen sansho" and "mi sansho" made with arima sansho pepper from mt. rokko. they use the traditional method of slowly simmering the ingredients in a kamado (traditional japanese hearth) to bring out the full flavor of the ingredients, and by using a wood fire, they create tsukudani with a mellow flavor. they go perfectly with warm rice. please buy them for home use or as a souvenir from arima.
