Dojima yakushido temple stands on the grounds of the 23-story office building, dojima avanza. contrary to its modern appearance, it is actually a venerable temple dating back to the time of empress suiko, and is said to be the origin of the place name "dojima." the spherical hall, constructed from 127 triangular mirrored glass panels, has a diameter of approximately 7 meters. the principal image is yakushi nyorai (the medicine buddha), and every spring, monks from yakushi-ji temple in nara hold the "setsubun water drawing festival," praying for good health and business prosperity.
