This soto zen temple was built in 1746, during the middle of the edo period. the grave of shitomi kanzuki, a painter from osaka, is located here. he painted works such as "illustrated guide to famous places in ise," "illustrated guide to famous products of mountains and seas," and "illustrated guide to famous places in omi," and he studied ancient sites of japan and china and was granted the rank of hokkyo shonin. this rank was also given to doctors and painters at the time, but it was abolished in 1873.
