Kitano tenmangu shrine
If you head east from the grounds of hirano shrine, famous for its camellias and cherry blossoms, you will find kitano tenmangu shrine, known as the shrine of the god of learning. in spring, approximately 1,500 lovely plum blossoms add color to the shrine grounds and fill the air with their fragrance. the shrine is bustling not only during the plum blossom festival on february 25th, but also during the monthly "tenjin-san" festival held on the 25th of each month.
