Ryoan-ji temple
This temple is a zen temple of the myoshinji branch of the rinzai school, and is also registered as a world cultural heritage site. its dry landscape garden, with 15 stones arranged in a 7-5-3 pattern on white sand, is known as the "tiger cub crossing garden" and is world-famous. its extremely simple form possesses a tranquility and serenity that can be said to be the state of zen, leaving a deep impression. in addition, the kyoyo pond has a gentle atmosphere when water lilies float on it in early summer.
