Kennin-ji temple
Founded in 1202 by eisai, it is the head temple of the kenninji branch of the rinzai school of zen buddhism. the hojo (abbot's quarters), a designated important cultural property, houses a dry landscape garden and the national treasure, "fujin raijin-zu" (wind god and thunder god) by tawaraya sotatsu (a replica is on display).
