Osaka city central public hall
This neo-renaissance style building dates back to the taisho era. construction began with a 1 million yen donation from einosuke iwamoto, a stockbroker in kitahama, but he committed suicide before its completion after failing in stock trading. preservation and restoration work was completed in 2002. the beauty of the brick-colored and white stripes, known as the tatsuno style, reflected in the water and greenery, is truly a symbol of osaka. it is a designated important cultural property.
