This historic temple is considered japan's first kannon pilgrimage site and has been revered since ancient times. it became famous when the mother of emperor meiji received a maternity belt called "onkane no o" from the temple, and gave birth safely. because many visitors are pregnant women or those with children, the temple has thoughtful amenities such as an escalator on the stairs leading up to the hilltop. nakayama kannon park is known for its plum blossoms, and the approach to the temple and the temple grounds are always adorned with seasonal flowers, creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere.
