Matsuyama shrine
This shrine is a tenmangu shrine dedicated to sugawara no michizane, and along with nagaoka tenjin and hattori tenjin, it is known as one of the three tenjin shrines along the hankyu railway line. it is said that michizane stopped here on his way to exile in dazaifu, and was so struck by the beauty of the pine trees here that he composed a poem, and since then the area has been called komatsu (little pine).
