Ichijoji
In 1427, during the 34th year of the oei era, saint nichishin visited this area from shimosa province and converted kinsenji temple, which had been founded during the heian period, into a nichiren buddhist temple, which is now ichijoji temple. the saint devoted himself to spreading the lotus sutra, and despite being imprisoned and tortured by the shogunate at the time due to the intensity of his work, he built temples all over the country. during the time of the 6th head priest, nichiei, his spiritual power healed the illness of matsujuin, the daughter of tokugawa yorinobu, the founder of the kishu domain, and as a result, temple buildings were donated, and prayer transmission documents were collected from all over the country, which have been passed down to the present day.
