Founded in 1471, it is said to have been revered by the ashikaga shoguns and the karasuma family of kyoto. the main object of worship is a large mandala revealed by nichiren shonin, and within the temple grounds stands a memorial hall that houses and displays handwritten manuscripts and letters of the showa-era poet tatsuji miyoshi.
