The shrine boasts a vast sacred grove and the tarumi waterfall, which is celebrated in the manyoshu anthology. for over 1300 years, since emperor kotoku bestowed the name tarumi upon the shrine, both its location and name have remained unchanged. despite being located in a residential area, stepping inside feels like entering a deep forest. furthermore, situated on a hill, the shrine grounds offer views of mount ikoma and the skyscrapers of osaka.
