Located on the toyonaka campus of osaka university, it exhibits the actual fossil and reconstructed skeleton of the machikane crocodile excavated on the campus. osaka university also displays a variety of academic specimens, from prehistoric artifacts to cutting-edge research equipment, and presents the latest educational and research achievements in exhibition format. it was registered as a national registered tangible cultural property in 2008.
