Shuichi nakayama memorial museum
Nagaoka-kyo, the "phantom capital," was located on this site for 10 years between 784, when the capital was moved from heijo-kyo, and the subsequent move to heian-kyo. the discovery of its remains proved its existence, and the museum exhibits the work and research of the late shuichi nakayama, who dedicated his life to its excavation. *parking available (up to 3 cars).
