Sawaragi shrine
This shrine has been located on the banks of the former ibaraki river since ancient times and is commonly known as "omiya-san." it enshrines kagutsuchi-no-kami. "kagu" is an archaic word for copper, and "sawara" in sawaragi also refers to copperware, showing that the place name and the deity's name are consistent. the shrine grounds cover over 1,000 tsubo (approximately 3,300 square meters) and are adjacent to the former ibaraki river green space (sakura-dori), allowing visitors to experience the changing seasons.
