Ibaraki shrine is located almost in the center of ibaraki city and is revered by many people, to the point of being considered the guardian shrine of the city's residents. it is especially lively during the new year's visit in january, the toka ebisu festival, and the summer festival in july. on june 30th, the ancient ritual of "chino-wa kuguri," in which people pass through a ring made of woven reeds with a diameter of about 2 meters to ward off evil, is also held. across from ibaraki shrine, separated by the former ibaraki river green space, central park is also a spacious area surrounded by greenery and serves as a place of relaxation for the city's residents.
