Nanban culture museum
This stylish two-story building houses a collection of nanban art and artifacts related to christianity. it is a private museum comprised of the collection of the late yoshiro kitamura. the nanban folding screen by kano mitsunobu (an important cultural property) is a must-see. take your time to enjoy other items such as the flower and bird lacquerware table with mother-of-pearl inlay (a heirloom of the date family) and the luzon tea caddy (formerly owned by the hosokawa family). the birthplace of kaoru morimoto, the playwright famous for "a woman's life," was located to the south of this building.
